The Department of Radiation Oncology at Citrus Valley Medical Center is located at the Inter-Community Hospital campus. It has been proudly providing cancer treatment to residents of the San Gabriel Valley for nearly 40 years!

Following the merger in 1994 of three of San Gabriel's finest hospitals Queen of the Valley, Inter-Community, and Foothill Presbyterian - the Citrus Valley Health Partners have embarked on a program to upgrade patient services in the radiation treatment center. The result is a department that now offers state-of-the-art advances in radiation technology and treatment, and a cancer program comparable to the university setting. Physician services are provided by members of Cancer Care Consultants Medical Associates, with Dr. Uri M. Zisblatt as Medical Director.

Our treatment equipment now includes:

  • Dual High Energy Varian 2100C Linear Accelerator
  • Multiple Energy Electron Beam
  • Multi-Leaf Collimation
  • 3D Computer Treatment Planning
  • Virtual Simulation
  • High Dose Rate Brachytherapy
  • Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

The radiation department provides treatment for a variety of cancer diagnoses. Comprehensive care is provided within the Citrus Valley Health Partners system, and treatment is coordinated with specialists throughout the San Gabriel Valley.

The department offers the latest techniques in "organ preservation" treatment. It has an active high dose rate brachytherapy implant program available to patients with prostate and gynecological cancers, as well as a breast preservation program for women.

Additionally, the Department of Radiation Oncology is frequently recognized for the personalized attention provided to its patients. It takes great pride in its warm and caring nursing and treatment staff. Specialized care services include nutritional counseling, support groups, social work, and hospice care. For patients with special circumstances, patient pick up services are available to community residents.

The Citrus Valley Medical Center Department of Radiation Oncology is located at the basement level in the Inter-Community Hospital campus, 210 W. San Bernardino Road, Covina, CA 91723. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (626) 915-6280.
